The fifth day of the fifth month (lunar calendar) is the Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival of the Chinese nation. According to 'Continuation of Qi's Records' and 'Chronicles of Jingchu', after the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Dragon Boat Festival became associated with commemorating Qu Yuan. Through setting up altars for worship, river activities, dragon boat racing, zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) as a form of affection, and local festivities, this custom has continued in Qu Yuan's hometown to this day, forming a tradition.
